I think part of his call was based on the fact that you WAY over bet the pot when you pushed. Most players take that as being a buy and not that you have a monster hand. That is the usual bluff method most player seem to employ. I'm willing to bet that he didn't think you had anything at all and that he was ahead. Instead of pushing all in, why not re-raise to about 3k and let him think if he wants to call the additional 2k.
Here is one thing you didn't include. What was the buy in? Was it a free roll or was it a buy in game. I don't know Carbon that well, but most sites have a free leader board tournament. If that is the case, what did he have to lose? The payout isn't in anyones pocket at that point, so he has NOTHING to lose by calling. If he wins the hand, he is sitting really good to finish in the cash and make some free money. If he loses the hand with that call he's out nothing.

I agree with cowboy, I mean this was just such a sick overbet that I mightve considered calling although probably wouldve let it go after considering these possibiliites.
1) You have AK or AQ and even though I am ahead right now you can win the pot with any JKQ or A. So im actually behind to win the hand.
2) Even if you have a pair lower then the baord (9s,8s,7s) You have me fkin hammered.
I think it was a fold after consideration but not right away because of the overbet.
Overbetting sometimes can trap your opponent like it did here becaus ehe thinks your bluffing. You just got unlucky.
However, people are going to pick up on the fact that you overbet when you have the goods and your gonna end up not being profitable if you dont switch up your betting habits.
Just my advice.
Thanks
