A rod comes clean today
This was all over the news where i live as well.... i live in tampa florida where this all went down. Basically a rod took the advice of his coach and "came clean". This including telling about 200 media members about the whole process he was involved in. He talked about how he took injections of a substance from one of his cousins every 2 months that was from the dominican republic. Basically he said that he didnt even know if it was being administered correctly and he didnt think he was doing it enough to recieve the correct benefit. Im not too sure about all of this but im just going to take it all as the truth and move on. What do you all think?
-
Any links to the news story? I guess im shut off from the world and havent heard anything about this at all.

Let's look at the history of the event. A-Rod denies using any performance enhancing drugs in a TV interview. A while later it comes out that he popped positive on a drug test in 2003. Then he talks on ESPN and claims to be stupid about what he took and what was or wasn't banned. He basically said that everyone was doing it and no one knew what was or wasn't banned. Now he tells us a story about his cousin sending him a substance that he thinks might not of been administered correctly. I don't think we can believe anything he says, seeing as he has a history of lying about what did or didn't happen in the past. We will never know what drug made him test positive, unless the testing company breaks a few laws and releases the results of the drug test.
At this point I'm not sure what to believe or not to believe. How much truth did A-Rod tell us today? No one really knows but him and I'm not sure he even knows the "truth" after years of covering things up.

So does this mean he is gone then? Banned?
-
As it stands right now, there is no punishment coming down from the MLB office. I thinkg the first offense is a 15 game suspension, second is like 90 games, and 3rd is life time ban.
-
I dont know what to think of this now. I mean he is an AWESOME baseball player, and doesnt need the "juice" to help him. He probably did it being young and stupid and thinking itll make him more famous and rich, and none would ever know. At least he is coming clean about it, telling the world, and maybe not he will still break the records and do it properly.
I love A rod, i think he is a great defensve and offensive plyer, and would walk into the Hall of fame when he retires, and could get into any team anywhere right now, but this does make you wonder
-
People that liked him before stil will and people who didnt still wont. Nobody cares. Hes not going to get in any kind of trouble or anything. He did it to get rich and it worked. Good for him. And now hes crying about it and "coming clean" because he knows thats what he is suppose to do. He might as well be saying please parents still buy my cards and jerseys for your kids. You know I get a royality of that stuff. Who Cares. He got his Payday. Thats all he cares about.... If I was Pete Rose I would go to the MLB headquarters and blow that mother F'er skyhigh Jack Bauer style.

who gives a sh i t. i wanna see the other 104 players on list.
-
Arod is complete garbage...new he was loaded:mad:
-
no matter what anyone does there will still be outlaws in every sport. Arod deserves to be punished like all the rest that get caught.
-
But how long can you be banne d?

I love how these athletes will say that they had no idea what they were actually taking. What kind of professional athlete is dumb enough to take a drug or any other substance that they are unsure about. Most intelligent people, which maybe these athletes just aren't, would definitely do their research on any substance before trying it. I'm not a competetive athlete any more but still work out regularly. There is not one supplement that I have ever taken that I did not do a fair amount of research on before considering trying it. I don't believe for a second that he didn't know it was a banned substance. It is time for MLB and all the other leagues to start giving these athletes a taste of reality and give them sentences that any other average person would receive. That goes not only for drugs but for stupid behavior as well. I'm a big Buffalo Bills fan and am disgusted by Marshawn Lynch's actions. I hope the Bills cut his stupid a--.

they know they were doing it. but it just was illegal at the time they took it. and they just wont admit to doing wrong so they say i didnt know i was doing a bad thing. lol

at that time in baseball, there was no testing for steroids or HGH...now ask yourself this question, if there was no way at all to get caught, and you had the chance to make millions of dollars by hitting homeruns, you wouldnt use Performance enhancing supplements?i would in a heartbeat...also, how the hell do you think Mark McGuire hit 70 home runs in a season...lord knows he didnt just eat his wheaties everyday, he used ANDRO...at that time, it wasnt illegal in any pro sport, now it is....big whoop if a-rod tested positive...
