Does NDN or anyone have any insider news about forum life?
What are the other forums doing?
How to start your own forum?
Competition amongst forums?
Are there sister forums?
Are there forums we should be aware of?
How many forums are there now?
Is poker forums growing and by how much?

The inner workings of maintaining a poker forum is quite intriguing.
Yet we know very little about the forum world.
Are there any experts out there to shed some lite on this topic?

Except Eejit, With all due respect, I am not interested in his oppinion on this subject.

Fine, but fu** you, so ill post it anyway.

Forums are hard to get going. They take years of marketing, link exchanging, and development. Its a full time job.

You need to buy a domain name, host it, buy the template for the forum, get it loaded. Edit everything about it. Make up names, ideas, and whatever.

Then set up games by becoming an affiliate just about everywhere. Some casinos are merged into one group, some are seperate casinos and poker rooms, so you need to send about.... 600 emails. All different. And sign up at 600 sites. With different info.

Then you need to get links, make marketing campaigns.

Then you need people to get their sites through you, which is mainly google based. Gl with that. I do it for a job, it sucks. Only way to move up google nowadays, as everyone can manage keywords ok themselves, is paying for it, or being an old site.

After all this you then set up games, leagues, all the time spending your own money. Then you need to reward members, with your own money. Then you do promos, with your own money.

ITs basically alot of cost and effort, and if you get satisfaction from it, great, gl, and im sure itd be popular if you had the man hours to put into it.

But it really is a full time job if it gets over a certain size.

Having poker games to get new members is fine, but you need brand new members. Finding that these days = hard as anything.

Didn't Rogue say he was an expert on this subject?

Hey Rogue, whats the news out there about forum life these days.

From the look of the OFC listing, forums have really boomed.

Some insight would be most helpful.

That's what we are here for.

I would love to see a list of which forums are connected.

Some forums are just shells and lucky to see any activity in them.

Some forums are so big, your voice isn't heard.

I was actually interested in your knowledge NDN about what it's like to
run a forum and if you have conversations with other forum owners.
Is there a group of you?
Is there a annual news letter or convention/gather?

I met no animosity in this thread.
Everyone is on my wrong side today.

I honestly want to know about the evryday behind the scenes of a poker forum.

Is it a business or hobby for most?
How does it work?

Would you be so kind since I have had my anxity medicine and I am calm now?

I think a title other than "Other forum news" would have been better if you were interested in knowing what it's like to run NDN or any other forum.

I am running short on time today - But please send me a private message with a link to this thread and I will provide everyone with a giant post and some insight on what it's like.

I'd really be interesting in knowing the behind the scenes situations that come up and what it's like to start one.

Not because I want one, just because I'm curious?

When did you decide to start ndn, ndn?

Lol at that last sentence.
