I've been pretty quiet about this in the past - but it's time I speak up.

From now on, I would appreciate it if existing members would reply to the new member's welcome threads with an original welcome message.

There are several members (actually more than that even) that simply copy and paste the same exact welcome message to every thread posted by a new member.

I think even they can tell that your response is not original and does not sound like you are genuinely welcoming them to the forum.

This particularity irks me when people do it to every thread even when they are 2-4 weeks old.

This isn't directed to anyone specifically because there are plenty of people who do it.

Please respond genuinely or not at all.

i had noticed it too and wondered if the new comer would think "lame" but a few of them were very informative. I'm sure that this is not the worst thing someone could do ..so for all you copy and pasters in the new member section, don't beat yourselves up too bad. We all know in your heart you meant well.
