The story of the Shoe Tree in Lassen County California is an interesting one. Located on highway 395 just north of junction 70, the shoe tree has
attracted shoe tossers for decades. 4 years ago, the government decided they wanted to ban people from hanging shoes from a public tree.
They removed all the shoes and posted signs and warned of a fine.
Less than a year later, the sign was stolen and the infamous Shoe Tree
blossomed even more shoes than ever before.
The citizens have spoken, too bad the gov. didn't ask us first.:iamwithstupid:

thats funny in san jose we had a gum wall that was near this bar in downtown. im telling u there was like 3-5 million pieces of gum on there. well the bar shut down and the owners had to clean the wall prior to leaving. lol i would have just tore the whole bldg down. thats a cool one ringo. so its off of the 395. i am gonna have to check that out and leave a pair the next time i get that way.

This reminds me of the "rubber tree" my boyfriend and I made when I was in high school. It was deep in the woods and very private. His name was Russell and I was with him from age 15-20, so you can imagine how many rubbers were on that tree!! When we were getting bored with the tree we started to add colors. That was fun! Memories are a beautiful thing! Now you have me thinking about the shoe tree again! My husband, Tony, wears a size 14. Yeah Baby!!!!

I have zero poetic ability, but looking at those pictures makes me want someone to write a poem about it. Thanks Ringo for my moment of zen for the day :)

The last picture Tay was taken early in the morning at 6000 feet just below Lake Davis. The fog was coming off the lake.
The mountain range is all od Plumas County.

That is our back road short cut to Portola from our Cabin.
22 miles instead of 25 miles.
Yes it's a dirt road till 1/2 mile from Lake.

A poem eh?

My heart has been shaken up too much to spit out any good poety I am afraid.

HEY TAY HERE IS MY POEM I MADE JUST NOW FOR U AND FOR EVERYBODY HERE!

The summer is open to my eyes.
The summom of the soft breath.
The eternal Oak trees lighten the way up.
Im not afraid anymore.
There is only one way.
Up front.
To the glory of Happyness.
Im alive, Im happy.
Like an old oak tree.
