I have a friend named Bill ( Brazil ) who has lived 30 years in Dixie Valley
where my cabin is. He makes less than $4000 a year in wood cutting and
odd jobs and watching peoples cabins in the winter. I gladly pay him $100 a year to watch our cabin.
Well he said something to me this weekend that I want to share with all of you.

"I don't need much money, I just need good friends like you"

I thought how true that was on so many levels.
Our friendships here on NDN are so much more valuable than chips or money.
Money comes and goes, but our friendships will always grow.:grouphug:

This is very true for sure.
People here are very friendly, this is true...
And what is to have a lot of money, and have no friends or love.. must be a very sad life...

Ringo that almost made me cry. What your friend "Bill" said was very touching! I agree with him. As I can see that you do as well.
Although we need money to survive could you imagine a world without friends.
True friends are hard to come by but when you do find one they are priceless. You can't put a price on something like that. But you can cherish it forever.
Thank you for sharing this. It has been said for years that love covers a multitude of sins.:)

in the world of FRIENDSHIP....there is no such thing as politically correctness for your bond is too truthfully personal for that.

It is recognizing that you two or the 517 of you have more likenesses than differences and that the differences you have are menial.

If friendship had anything to do with wealth ..... man i wish i was a Bill Gates or Warren Buffet, or Carlos Slim Helu', or Lawrence Ellison, or Ingvar Kamprad
for the wealth of friendship is all I crave.

if we spent more time investing in friendship and less time convincing our friends into investing this world would have no need for government bail outs.

I don't know if I can even call you guys friends- you are like family to me. Is it possible to be both at once? If it is, then you are the best kind of friend. I like that. Coming to NDN is like having family time every day.

That was beautiful.

I bet he's one of the happiest people in the world

I think people get consumed with money too much, including myself because of our society and what we need or want.

But I like everyone here for what I know of them and you have all given me a lot of support. :)

well call me shallow but i would rather have money 1st then take on some friends. i agree with everyone is saying but money makes life easier. i dont friends will stab u in the back and all that other stuff. thats y i have like 5 friends in my inner circle and thats it. all my other friends are just friends they arent family. but dont get me wrong if i had the money i would take care of my inner circle. as for living on 4k wow how do you do that. maybe if i didnt have a family and bills it wouldnt be a problem.

Ringo, that is very sweet and it meant alot. I worked with a guy named, Howard, not long ago. He made a small wage as an asst. pro at the golf course and loved his job. He now is back in Colorado. During the time we spent together I heard him say, "money don't me nothing to me" and it really got my attention because that is what my mom has said her whole life. She said I came into this world with nothing and I will leave this world with nothing. At first I didn't like Howard, but after he said this, I grew to admire him. Hey Glo, what you said reminded of what my Dad says, "By the time you get to be my age, if you can count your good friends on one hand, you're doing better than most" Really good friends are hard to find, the ones who would never stab you in the back and at the same time never judge you. When you find them hang on tight!

I said U give him 100 per year....

At least he has a nice friend called Jeff....
