Ok i know some of the NDN folks here are not into alot of bbile or religous

stuff, but here are some things that i have learned about money and the

bible and how riches should be concieved acording to jesus. I find it

interesting that jesus taught more about money than any thing else. He was

a phropet of sorts i guess, and he wasnt trying to make money doind it. As

far as i cab tell in my sporadical studies of the bible, jesus never so much as

asked for a offering. I think the reason why he wanted to teach so much

about money and personal possesion is because of the worries people have

and the stress it causes alot of people, especially in todays times, when the

economy is all down-hill, and things cost so much. Jesus taught exensively

that nothing destroys our well being more quickly than money-by either

working to have alot of money, wishing we had alot of money or doing

criminal acts to obtain more money. I am gonna quote some things in my

bible studies about this subject.

A man once asked jesus,"Teacher, tell my brother to divide the inheritance

with me"(luke12:13). Instead of asking of any of the great things that jesus

had to offer the one thing that worried the man the most was a large

wealthy inheritance in his family. why is that?

Jesus then said,"beware of covertousness, for ones life does not consist in

the abundance of the things he posseses" in verse 15 of luke. Jesus then told

a tale of a rich man who was very successful, having so many crops tht he

had to build huge barns, but the man was in fact in gods eye a fool. Not

because he was rich, but because he was not rich towards god. The man

eventually lost everything, due to not having faith in what was trulely rich,

which is faith in god. Does this mean having faith in god mean that one may

become rich? maybe.

I have read and seen all kinds of advice on how to become rich, but only

jesus and the bible holds the true source of the reasons and things that

cause us all to try so hard for a lil money and wealth. Its about the richness

of our faith, and the love for our family and nieghbors that is what is truly

important, and the joys of turning our greeds into generosity.:Angel_anim:

The riches of this world are vain,
they can vanish in a day,
but the sweet tresures of ones faith,
they never pass away.- anthony bosch

Thank you Panamheist for sharing. The parable of the rich fool is one of my favorites. As the rich man lost not only everything he had but he lost his life that day as God said to him in verse 20 "then who will get what you have prepared for yourself." And it makes so much sense. As men/women become full of greed in the event they live to store "things" and riches for himself/herself that will be left here when they leave this world. Rather than storing things of God that will make life in the world less of love and good that will stay with you always.

I think the problem here is not for what u whant to be rich, but that u whant to be rich..in anyway..

wating to be rich of anything (iven god) is egoistic...(the work of ego)
off course is much better of being rich of god because u can not lost him so easy.
im a very religious person, but latelly I whant to be rich on money...

Yes navuta very true, I think we all want to be rich with money as it makes it much easier to live life nonetheless it makes life fun especially if we can gamble. But money is the root of all evil you know people will go to very low places to get what they want. But riches in God can do no harm what so ever! Isn't that great? ;)

If you only want $2000.00 a month to do what you like to do, how then will you pay your bills?

Me of coarse I would like to be rich, however to just be comfortable would suit me fine.

I always told my girls that we were rich, because we had Love! And that it was ok that we did not have money. It did not serve as any consolation when they wanted something though. But I have to admit they never asked me for too much that was not necessary, honestly. But they were little still girls.
