Okay so I had a doctors appointment today, early in the morning mind you, and I thought my NDN family would appreciate an update so here it goes.

Baby is healthy, which is great news.

Also, I have gained 22 pounds.

That was a harsh realization to me, because I am not that big of a person naturally and this is litterally the most I have ever weighed.

I couldn't believe it!

I need to stop eating so much and coming up with the excuse that I am eating for two.

I just love having that excuse but believe me, I need to stop because I still have until November.

If any of the ladies can offer be any advice for while I'm pregnant I would appreciate it.

I know you are supposed to gain weight, but I DON'T know if you are supposed to gain that much.

My doctor said it was fine, but as a woman who has been tiny and 120 pounds most of the time it is very weird to feel this big.

Keep this in mind.... an average newborn baby weighs 8lbs.

Mine weighed 4lbs 13ozs and 6lbs 3ozs.

Give or take 5 pounds for water retention.

So if the baby weighed 10lb and give 10lbs for water retention

the placenta. We are talking 25lbs.

If you gain much more than that it stays after the

baby is born.

The more you put on the harder it is to take off.

I think I gained a total of 36 lbs with each pregnancy.

I had a much harder time taking the weight off the second time.

most small people i know who had babys always lose it back. also you leave

in texas so go outside after the baby is born and sweat the pounds right off.

i am sure you will get back down to your size 0 after its all over. well not

right after but a few months down the road. glad to hear the baby is going

great.

ps keep being strong and dont let your personal life stress you out as for the

stress is bad for the people i know you already know this but just wanted to

remind you.

don't give up exercising just change it up to be baby friendly ..Ask doctor for baby friendly exercises.........I'm sure there are ones u can google too.

do not drink juice it is a calorie nightmare....... buy and eat fresh fruit ..can fruit is good too don't drink the juice it comes in .......stir fry vegetables with small amounts of meats(vary them for variety) ...... eat 4 small/light meals a day so u r never hungry.... don't forget your milk....

don't worry about your weight..... eat good whole foods...stay away from high calorie snacks.

kaci as u get bigger u will find u can't do as much ..prepare those around u for this ...they will need to step up and help.

have prepared low calorie snacks ready so u are not tempted by bad snacks(potaoe chips, german chocolate cake, turtle cheesecake, bon bons..ect)

u will lose the weight after the baby is born ... that's a fact! so please don't sweat any of this now.

woohooo ....everything is going GREAT!

Yes I am very excited that it is going great.

I have never really had to have a real excercise plan as I have just always been naturally thin.

The talk of exercise doesn't entertain me.

I hate sweating but if it's a small price to pay I will be more than glad to.

Well right now I am more than willing to think of the idea.

I will definitely be googling for some friendly pregnancy exercises.

I didn't even think to ask my doctor when I went in this morning.

Other things were on my mind.

I don't want to imagine the weight to be hard coming off though.

That just means so much effort and work. eh.

Good Luck Kaci! Glad to hear you and the baby are in good health. After the baby, I think you will return to your normal weight. My Mom popped 10 of us out and today she is 63 years old and weighs, maybe 105 pounds. She about 5'1"- my brothers call her Lil'mama. You'll be just fine.

Your mom had ten kids?

That's crazy.

I'm glad to here she is small again and I'll regain my weight, this was really encouraging.

Thanks kitty.

girlfriend u havent gained much. it all goes away with a little working out after the baby is born. dont be shocked when u still see a pouch after u deliver. lol and yes u are eating for 2. i dont think its a excuse. well my wife puked for 6-7 months during both pregnancies so u should fell lucky that u can eat. she couldnt. as long as the baby is healthy thats all that counts.

hey to all the ndn men we are all gonna be daddies. well what are we gonna name our new babie guys?

i gained 6 lbs my whole pregnancy. i lost 10 in the first 3 months. i gained

that back plus 6. kylee was 6lbs 8oz when she was born. she was also born

in november. i lost 10 pounds after i had her. im smaller than i was b4 i got

pregnant. the key to that was i breastfeed. it helps you lose the weight

quickly! if you can stick with it that is. some mothers just do it while they are

in the hospital but its better if you do it for the first year. kylee is now 8

months old and i still breastfeed! its not hard and the pounds fly off.
