View Full Version : Resolution: Peace at last in the new chip system!

I over the past week or so, have at times, seen many people debate about
the the new rep system and how to earn chips or how to get a higher tier. I
have at times been frusterated(at first), and then after a bit of reading of
trying to understand, I realized something. Something within me begin to
change, and I realized that it didnt really matter how the system works, or
how do i get this or how do i get that. Dont get me wrong, I think it is a
great thing, Its just instead of fighting this inner turmoil to resent or
somehow prevent change, I accepted it, even embraced it for what it was. It
was almost as if the serenity prayer had took over my brain, making me
realize this was something i couldnt changed, and gave me the wisdom to know that.
I think that if other people would just look past the whole idea of the
change, and realize that NDN is still NDN, and that it is still the great amazing
site where we can all come and blog, get great casino info and sign-up
codes, chillax in the casino or arcade as always, meet great people and make
friends, and still earn chips, then does it really matter how you earn chips? I
am at peace, and after reading this, I think other folks will be too.:)

I'm not going to be an *** and say you posted this just to get rep points for it, as I don't believe you did. I'll leave that up to eejit, at least to say lol.
On a serious note though, I have noticed, at least for me, the posts that have been getting reputation points are the ones where I genuinely just want to express my opinion or make a helpful post, and am not really expecting/looking to get rep points from it. I think that's what your post and this new system is all about- the people who will reap the rewards of the system are the ones who love being here and posting their thoughts and feelings, and fostering friendships with other members regardless of the rep points.

I have noticed the same thing Tay.
It's great for you to point it out though.
I mean I expressed my feelings open and honestly about my parents in on of Ringo's thread, which just to let you know, not something I usually do, but feel comfortable with the NDN Family we have formed here.
I never even thought to get rep points for that, never in a million years.
I was just answering Ringo's thread and bam, I got rep for it.
It's amazing how getting close in a forum gets you rep and I think all NDN really wanted from the rep system, is meaningful discussion and less of the spam that was littering ndn.
I'll admit I did spam and probably half of my first 1000 threads weren't even good at all.
But I have learned and am learning what to do to contribute better posts and relative topic information so I'm getting better I believe.
As a result of the rep system I believe NDN Forum as a community is getting alot better.
But that's my own opinion.
And it's also important that we encourage new members.
That has really made a difference I think.
But, what do I know, right?

Naw im not doing it for rep points, this is really how I ended up feelings about the whole thing. Its a much simpler way of looking at it. I like getting rep points certainly, but I will even go so far as to make this post voluntarily exempt from rep points. I just thought it might be useful to some folks who may have a hard time adapting to change. To be honest I love this place, and most everyone that is a regular NDN.

A good analogy here is:
Is your glass half full or is it half empty?
Happy pondering

It's okay, eejit hasn't repped me since I was talking about girl on girl action, and I've still gotten rep points. At least we know what his priorities are, right?

:)A good post about bondage and/or S & M should get your reps up then. just an idea!

The problem with that is I'm definitely not into either of those two things. They just don't do anything for me.
Although, as klinkman once put it when we were discussing whether or not we wanted to try bondage: "Well, to be fair, half of your body can't move anyway."
Taking it up the bum though, that I can write about!
