Hey NDN, I've been having an unusual issue today and I wondered if you knew what was going on- I can read and reply to threads just fine, but whenever I go back to the new posts page, the forums I've read don't appear as such. Is there a reason this is happening? Thanks for looking at this!

I know there is a "Mark Forums Read" option in the Quick Links menu, but this has never happened to me before and I've never had to use that.

i blame all of the forum problems on north korea. they are hacking all of

america. we are doomed. not really but i am sure ndn will get the forum

fixed. seems like a few bugs found its way in the server.

I did not know if it was just me or not.

Usually on my forums setting at least this is how it is.

If I go to my user cp or any main section in the forums, say general chat, and I click on general.

The ones I have not replied to last, are bolded, therefore I know to look there, to respond.

And to see what other people have written and responded and such.

The thing is, all day today nothing has been bolded, I thought maybe it was just my settings.

It makes it more difficult for me, honestly.

And Now that Tay is experiencing something like this sort, I was wondering if the forums, just updated or something, or what was going on.

The bug or whatever seems to be sort of sorting itself out now, but I'm having the opposite problem as you are, where the threads remain bolded after I have read and sometimes even commented in them. At least it appears so for threads that were made today or in the last few hours- when I read new posts in the Trivia Contest thread, it was no longer bold afterwards. So I really don't know.

Okay so we are having the same problem in just opposite ways.

Mine is still doing this funky thing, and it never really has before.

I may just need to give the forums a rest for abit and come back and it will have fixed.

That could be the solution or it could not be.

I might try it if this becomes too much of a problem but you know I can't stay away too long.

Should be working as usual - I haven't done anything that would cause those problems.

Perhaps clearing your cache would do the trick...

Thanks for the advice- do you know how to clear the cache in Mozilla Firefox? I'll try this out and see if that helps, I just need to know how to do it! Thanks NDN.

Ok NDN I tried clearing the cache and it still did not resolve my issue. Do you have any other ideas? Thanks.

If you could use IE to test and see if the problem is still happening that would be great.

If it is - Then there may be something I can do on my end.

If it isn't - Then we'll have to figure out what we can do on your end.

Ok I just tried the Safari browser, which is my other option for internet that I can use on the Mac side of my laptop. I don't use IE very often at all as I only use Windows basically for playing in our poker tournaments!

But to answer your question, there is not an issue in Safari, only Firefox. For reference, I am using version 3.0.11.

Hmmm.

If you're only having problems with one browser and not the other then it must be a problem on your end.

In Firefox, click Tools - Clear Private Data - Then check all of the boxes and hit the clear private data now button.

If that doesn't work, the easiest way to fix it would be to uninstall and re-install Firefox.

Thanks for looking at this. Klinkman and I already tried the first option and that didn't resolve it, so I'll try reinstalling the program. Thanks!

Again, oddly, this only happens for newly created threads- ones like Ringo's Daily Trivia Contest are not affected.

I'm not sure what you are saying exactly.. But,

Let me know if I can help in anyway. I haven't experienced any issues that you have said (what I think you are saying) but if you are still having troubles, than I would suggest contacting eejit101 or nodepositneeded because they will be able to give you the right answer. :)

I also use Firefox and have not had any issues.

It sounds like it's still something on your end Tay...

It must be, but I have no idea what else to try. If you think of something, let me know. Otherwise I'll just try to deal with this, I'm on here often enough that I should be able to navigate it somewhat easily, lol.

I did make one change today that might fix this problem (although I might have to revert back if this new change causes problems for anyone else).

Let me know if it fixed the problem...

Okay somehow I saw and read your response, but when I went to refresh the new posts and see if your change worked, the thread was no longer listed and I had to search for it in order to make this reply. So I'm guessing whatever you did didn't work :-?

Blah, sorry NDN for all the trouble!
