Okay so I was thinking about what Obama has done since he was in office and didn't realize that he had actually done all that much.

I voted for McCain but I'm a republican too so that's probably why.

Here's a quick list of what he has done.

1. Obama issued executive orders and presidential memorandum directing the U.S. military to develop plans to withdraw troops from Iraq, and ordered the closing of the Guantanamo Bay detention camp "as soon as practicable and no later than" January 2010.
2. Obama signed his first bill into law, the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act of 2009, on Jan 29, which eased the requirements for filing employment discrimination lawsuits. Five days later, he signed the reauthorization of the State Children's Health Insurance Program (SCHIP) to cover an additional 4 million children currently uninsured.
3. Obama repealed a Bush-era policy that prevented federal tax dollars from being used to fund research on new lines of embryonic stem cells.
4. Obama signed into law the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, a $787 billion economic stimulus package aimed at helping the economy recover from the deepening worldwide recession.

This is just a quick list so there are probably more things he's done.

I just wanted to know what you guys though. I don't like the 4th one because it just seems like we will be indebited even more and I am from a military family so I don't like the pulling are troops out so soon, you know.

But that's just my opinion so I wanted to know.

I'm following Andersoon Cooper on Twitter and he's in ghana with Obama now so that's what inspired this post.

Do you think he will continue to try to get us

but it was ok for bush to do a economic stimulus package. how much debt do you think we are in because of this war bush put us in?

I know we are in debt but what he is trying to do would technically double it and make us in debt even farther. I didn't vote for bush the second time and he would have been fine had he left the economy and this war alone.

But now that we are there I don't feel it would be the smartest thing if we were to pull out now.

Personally I think we will still be there in 2012. But that's just my opinion.

Our US economy is so big and powerful, that we could erase this huge debt, if we quit wasting, in no time.

After world war 2, everyone was worried that our debt was too high and we would never pay it off. The national debt was like 53% of GNP.
We paid it off!
Our debt now is around 38% of our GNP.
Obama is on the right track!
It will be painful for likely 5-10 years and then we will see our economic engine at full effiency.

I am encouraged that there are some Republicans left that still have an open mind.

Was that a compliment? Thanks if it was. Even if it was backhanded to my fellow repubs.

lol.

It's just really painful sometimes, you know.

I agree it may be too soon to tell.

But first impressions count and these are the first four points/impressions I'm looking at right now.

True!!!

They have spoiled many many cultures and they still think they are so powerfull that they can still destroy others culture.

They have a huge debit also with brasil. They have a big debit with all other countrys too.

Anyway. I hope the USA people think about what they do for the planet and not only for they country....

Say no to war. Yes to love!!!

I voted for McCain but I think Obama had done a pretty good job. I think that big stimulus package really helped our economy.
