Mine is Poppy Hills, Monterey California. It was my birthday in Janurary and my best friend and I drove 2 hours to see if we could play twilight.
My friend must of said something right to the caller, cause we were next off as a twosome for $25 each. I played great that day and shot an 82,
while my friend shot 80. It was the grace of God I assure you that helped me find my fairway wood through the tall pine trees to stay out of danger. That is one tough course.
Take the virtual tour below of Poppy Hills.
Enjoy the ride

I haven't played much golf outside of MN, so here are a few of our better courses:
The Wilderness at Fortune Bay (http://www.golfthewilderness.com/layout9.asp?id=215&page=6787)
This is a casino course and is supposed to be in the top three for public courses in MN. I've actually never played it, but I will get up there this summer to check it out. This is also my favorite casino in Minnesota.
The Legend (http://www.giantsridge.com/LegendSiteVT/l-vt.html) and The Quarry (http://www.giantsridge.com/QuarrySiteVT/q-vt.html) are both part of a golf and ski resort and are also in the top three for public courses in MN.
Stone Ridge (http://www.stoneridgegc.com/the-course/golf-course-tour-stoneridge-golf-course-stillwater-minnesota/) is one of the closest courses to me and is the number one public course in the Twin Cities area. I hate it though. It's a nice course, but it's a links course and every time I play it I feel like I am in the British Open.
I tried to link to their tours, but most of them actually suck and don't do the courses justice. If you look at the photo gallery instead I think they'll give you a better view of the courses.

Regarding the British Open comment, why not just, you know, realise your no int he British open?
And doesnt a links course have to be by the sea? Theres no Sea anywhere near MN.
Whats tht course that uses the best holes from every course in the world? Its a par 90 or something as its a 21 hole round....
Ill find it now

The best golf course i ever played on was called Tour 18. Its a course where
they rebuilt 18 of the best holes in american. Example is they replicated
Sawgrass #17 as one of thier holes. It is a really neat place to play. I think
everyone who goes to texas and plays golf should stop by and play there.
As for the my score...lol i shot a 102. i suck at golf and enjoy the beer more
then the golf.

The Legend and Quarry look like my kind of courses.
But the Fortune Bay course is spectacular looking.
The virtual tours are the best I have seen.
Make Poppy Hills look like amatures.
I am sure with the elevation drop from here, I won't be able to hit my 9 iron 155 yards in Minnesota. I will need Eejit as my caddy to handle all the math I will need to do.
A+ for post presentation.

Not sure if this counts, but I once walked the UNM South course--where Phil Mickelson won the college golf championship--with a buddy of mine who was playing.
The best looking course I have ever seen in person is Shinna**** on Long Island, where the US Open and PGA have been played. If you go east to west on Long Island, you have no choice but to drive by it as there are so few east/west roads.

I have only played in Florida. Golden Ocala Country Club has replica holes from all over the world. Most beautiful club house and course I have seen. The TPC course at Sawgrass has some of the fasest greens I've ever played. You can't go wrong with any TPC course anywhere. The one course I want to play and have not yet....is Black Diamond, very hard to get on. It is one of the top three in the United States. I have played 67 courses in the state of Florida and loved many of them. El Diablo is a great course when it is in great shape. Key Biscayne which is now called Crandon Golf Course I believe is beautiful. You see the bay at some holes and all kinds of wildlife. Florida has too many golf courses to choose from and I have been very priledged in life to play alot of them.

The TPC at Sawgrass has an island green that the ball just will not stay on. I bet they retreive at least 200 balls a day, just around that green!!! Most of them are nice because of the amount of tournament play involved. They have to be in good shape. Although with the economy alot of courses are not getting the play or help they used to. Golfers who used to play 3 times a week are now lucky to play one time a week. Anyday on any golf course is a good day for me. In South Florida, Turnberry Isle is nice. So is Hillcrest Country Club and The Country Club of Emerald Hills. Too many to mention. I used to have my own golf magazine and run the Broward County Mens Golf Association. I also ran scratch (hdcp 0-4 & 4-9) tournaments 9 months out of the year. 2 day tournaments, balls to the wall. Everybody was a golf pro. I ran my junior tournaments for 9 months also. My charity tournaments were two a year...one for Shriners Hospitals for Children and the other, Childrens Miracle (maybe spelled wrong) Hospitals for Children. So when it comes to Florida golf, I have played alot of golf courses. One day I will play out of state and just be awe. I have always played golf for business and my game reflects that. My best game ever is 92. I really didn't take my game serious because I was making alot of money on the golf course with my tournaments and not even attempting to be lpga. If I could turn back time I would have stepped my game up alot! I love golf and will always be in the golf business one way or the other.
