A talking match was held on a riverboat in New Orleans a while back, for five dollars a side. It continued, according to the Advertiser, for thirteen hours, the rivials being a Frenchman and a Kentuckian. The bystanders and judges were talked to sleep, and when they woke in the morning, they found the Frenchman dead and the Kentuckian whispering in his ear.
