A break from the gamble!

After playing for for most of the past week and doing pretty decent, I decided to take a break and get out of the house, spend some quality time with the family. I live out in the country, in a nice little community of mostly retired or farming folks. A ways down the road from my house, there are five good sized lakes stocked with all kinds of fish, crappie, bass, catfish, a bunch of perch and even a few beavers sometimes make a nice appearence.

I got my fishing gear together and heading down to the country corner store, where I got a box of worms and a bag of minners, a pack of smokes and a 12 pack of beer. My wife enjoys fishing too, and she came along for the trip too. We have a five month old beautiful duaghter that really gets a kick out of the great outdoors, and she goes nuts when ever one of us catches a turtle for some reason. The old dirt roads out here beckon me to the lake, and even though my wife dont believe me i do actually enjoy these lil trips.:)
We ending up staying staying til almost dark and cuaght a few good keepers. Fortunately we didnt catch any turtles, becuase my wifes idiotic uncle showed up and he likes to chop the heads off em for some dumb hick reason.lol
It is great to get away from the hectic and sometimes stressful life of always trying to be the best at poker, the best at tournament the best at sng's. I find our trips give me a refrshing outlook on life, and gives me time to think about the truly important things in my life.

Besides, the fact that he catches them by accident, his baby thinks it's cool. So what do you find sick about that? And the uncle kills them not him. I think that getting away from it all is well not sick. Man you have to get out a little more. Maybe get a pet turtle or something. lighten up the very nice guy (Panamheist) is new, lets let him settle in first.... lol ;)

As long as you dont catch em and kill them/ eat them, im all good.

u know turtles carry salmonella like no other. i have 3 at home any time i handle them i always have to wash asap. turtles are actually good. visited a friend in new orleans and its a delicassy( i know i speeled it wrong) and it wasnt to bad. a little like chicken. lol

Wel i tried to post a new thread with pictures included on the fishing trips we take, but when i tried to add images it asked for a url which i dont have for the pictures and then when i tried to add them as attachments, it says that the file size can only be like 19 kb when most of my pictures are in the 1.2-2.5 mb range. So how would i go about posting this pics to share?:confused:

hahaha yes i have a turtle and he has a beard his name is george and he is very cute i save him from his cage at the mall as it cost me 2 dollars to pick him up with a claw and drop him in a hole and blamo there he was

I couldnt agree more. Fishing is the best. You cant duplicate the high that you get from catching a fish. The worst day fishing is better then the best day at work.

Wait till you get a snapper turtle that has swallowed your hook?

If you cut the line, he dies. If you try to get the hook out, you loose a finger.

You have to kill it. And it's not easy to kill. Hats off to anyone that has to kill a snapper turtle.

I love fishing, but it has to be with the right people. some people i've gone fishing with just get drunk and act like idiots, those trips i don't like and will not be taking part of anymore. i like it when you start a fire, roast weiners/marshmellows, clean a fish and throw that on the fire tooo, and just for a bonus you glance over at the net or fishing rod and see another fish caught. the thrill. I believe I'm going fishing most of the weekends this summer. I'll take pictures my next trip and let you guys see em. (PS/ i'm in charge of building the fire all the time, and I'm pretty darn good at it, i'll take a pic of that too)

Great cant wait to check em out. There is a website, I forget where, that you can post your catches from fishing and win contests for like the biggest or best or most unique catches.
