Hi, I just joined the site. Like many new people I discovered the site because you hosted a freeroll on fulltilt. Before that I had never heard of your site. And I will admit I play a lot of freerolls. And a lot of buy ins. I just play a lot. And I tend to judge which forums to be active in based on how people act in the freerolls. I am an extremely active member on many forums. I don't talk a lot at the table but I pay attention to what is said. That being said I was very disappointed at the behavior of the players I saw at my first table today. One player in particular berated everyone at the table for being new, playing poorly (a little hypocritical in my opinion) etc. I am sure you have these freerolls to attract new members. So I have to ask this, why would anyone stick around if the regular members are hostile and unwelcoming?
I hope I'm wrong and this was just one bad apple or just somebody having a real bad day. But I can't say I'm too hopeful. The initial reception had certainly soured me on what looked to be an interesting site.

Hi there,
Thank you for joining and for playing in the game today. I'd also like to thank you for taking the time to post.
I'm sorry you encountered a player who wasn't as friendly as they probably could have been. Are you certain that player was a member of this forum? Full Tilt generates a lot of interest and unfortunately that makes it a little hard to prevent password from getting into the hands of some rather rude players. Regardless, I would encourage all new members to make their judgments based on this community as a whole and not on one particular player.
Anyhow, please take a moment to browse around the site (and the forum in particular). You'll quickly learn that we are a community of friendly and helpful people and there are a million reasons for you (and any new members) to stick around and be active!
Please let me know if you have any questions.
Thanks,
NDN

Yeah, he appears to be a very active member. I'm going to assume it was just that he was having a really bad day. I have to say that the people at my second table have been fine. Pretty quiet, but at least not unfriendly.

I apologize on behalf of that member. I will also have to assume that they are having a bad day.
I hope you'll look around a bit and see what we're all about.
Thanks again,

I'd like to take the second it takes and welcome you to one of the best forums. I play on a bunch of sites and used to be a member of some other forums and I like this one the best.
Our mods, NDN, being on of the really care what people think and feel about the forum and try to get down to the bottom of things as quick as they can.
I hope you enjoy our forum despite that situation and welcome aboard.

welcome to the site. I am new at the game also so I am one of those players that make mistakes. There is only one way to learn and that is to keep trying. I have never encountered any bullying but have seen it at the tables.I think that some of the players (not people here) feel that they can get away with saying what they want because they are not face to face with you.

I too am sorry you encountered this at the tables. I hope that in the time since you've made that post you've stayed to look around a bit and hopefully found NDN to be a welcoming place. I for one welcome you and hope to see you around as an active and valuable member like everyone else here!

I have agree with you, I am fairly new here also, and something like that would have made me feel not so welcome and not too eager to come back. But if you take the time to browse around the sight I think you will find yourself feeling more like you have joined a family rather than a forum. I too am usually very quiet, but have really enjoyed being here and being a part of such a great place. I hope you give it a chance because I believe you will find first impressions are not always correct. Good luck! and I hope to see you back and posting and playing at the tables.

Well thanks everyone. I appreciate all the kind responses. I did end up having a good time in the tourney and found that the play at the final table was exceptional. I look forward to seeing you all on the felt and getting to know you in the forum.

We are not all bad apples at all. First impressions tend to stick, but please give the rest of us a chance to show you that we are a welcoming community. It seems like only yesterday, I felt like I was the target of some negative vibes, but others told me the same thing I'm telling you now. While there might be some jerks out there in any aspect of life, you just have to ignore or get over it, otherwise you won't enjoy the rest of the world. So I apologize for whoever made you feel unwelcome and reiterate that you are very welcome here. :-D

Wow, way to show how friendly the forum is... All you ever comment about is how people are in the wrong... how about adding something positive for once... something people actually care about, instead of wasting your time posting about how people are breaking the rules and you "can't believe it" when virtually everyone has tried it at some point in time. Personally I feel you should have chips deducted for all your useless banter of blame... See, nobody likes to hear a reprimand... If I get any chips for this post, which I SHOULDN'T, I'm forfeiting them in advance and you should do the same.

Oy, you two are making me headdesk...really? Come on guys, get along. Eejit was just being eejit, that's all, but seriously, the system isn't that hard. If you are still having a problem with how it works, then some other forum might be better for you. Just saying.

This thread was 4 weeks old, and has no relevence to your "situation".
"All i ever coment on is how people are in the wrong"? Are you sure? Or is that just because ive commented on your last few posts the most recently. And they are the only ones youve read.
Personally i dont care how many chips i get. Unlike you, im not here because of the rewards. And you cant even begin to argue that as the first thing you did when you came here was try to claim and recieve these rewards.
Now, have a good day, im off to "scrtutinize your posts"

I am fairly new to this site as well, but i have yet to come across anyone hostile or rude. You have to understand a bit about nationalities in order to accept people of all etiquettes/manners though. Some countries may appear to be more rude or blunt than people in other countries, wheras in fact this is just typical everyday banter for those folks. But if it was indeed offensively rude, the poor fellow or gal was likely having a horrible day, which is very common in poker.
With that said, im sorry for the offensive player, and welcome you to the site. There are alot of great things to read and be involved with, not to mention alot of great info on the poker/casino industry that you may find particularly helpful.:-D

I am not trying to bombard you guys with useless crap and I'm sorry that it seems that way (kinda hurts my feelings a little that what I have to say is useless crap, but I'm done dwelling) ... I'd like to apologize for my previous behavior and get a fresh start with all of you... I am not trying to get around the system, that was just my first thought when I found this site, but now that I have actually interacted with some of you, I realized I actually enjoy this forum and being a part of it.
