Welcome to the club.

I'm 32 years old been smoking for 14 years.

I quit smoking, cold turkey, no gum, no patch, 42 days ago. 01/13/09

It's the first week or two that's tough.

Cravings really only lasted me a hard 20 minutes at a time during those weeks.

After that its much easier. Now I could really care less.

I've already been out drinking and just got really drunk. I have no need to go outside and smoke. Guess I'll just stay in here and keep on drinking. So it's got its perks.

Good luck to you.

Gum isn't going to help with the cravings. Or the hand to mouth habit.

It will help you not eat everything and get fat. The couple of people I know who quit a

few years ago have gained 20lbs each. No more. No less.

Personally it doesn't matter what I eat still I'm not getting any bigger.

the key is keeping active, and filling your time with other people who dont smoke...im just getting out of college, and i was a huuuge pot head and tobacco user, everyday i had about 4-5 cigars filled with the wacky stuff, and you still get the nicotine from the cigar itself, whammo...haha now that im home and i work everyday, it's a little easier. I still crave the wacky stuff, but im just too busy to be bothered with it...plus i have poker taking up more of my time, which granted its taking smoking, and replacing it with gambling, but hey as long as its not killing my lungs and body...haha

keep strong everyone, theres rat poinson in that stuff!!!

Well lets see i have been smoking for 30 years now. I quit for about three months back in 1983,that was when i was in the navy. But of course when I came home on leave I went out with my friends to the bar and I was good for about a hour and then I took one of my friends cigs and that was it for me. Been smoking ever since. One day i hope to quite.

Well I must confess I haven't quit smoking, just smoking tobacco.

I'm in California. The sh** is good here and I'm a one hitter quitter.
