Ok so my old desktop computer died on me last week after a short bout with a few viruses. I need a new computer, and I am thinking a laptop. Nothing fancy, just something to play poker on, and e-mail/forum use. I have no idea what I should get, or what the best place is online to shop. Any help will be GREATLY appreciated!!

I am in the same boat as you. My desktop is getting near the end of its life so I am either going to get another desktop or a laptop. I will be very interested in what people suggest to you.

Whatever direction you go I would highly recommend getting it WITHOUT Windows Vista.

Windows Vista... The worst virus you could ever have on your pc!

On the subject of Vista. I got a laptop from Best Buy on Black Friday and it came with Vista. I have not had a problem yet and I can get it to do what I want for the most part. It's different than XP and it requires some time to figure out, but overall I'd give it 2 thumbs up. On a side note, it seems in my opinion to be more business based rather than gaming based.

one of it's benefits apply to forums (poker).... the tabs remove that incredibally annoying "losing all your posted words when u need to search something" ....you can open a new tab without opening a new window

You don't need vista to have tabs!

Most browsers allow you to open new tabs. I know Internet Explorer and Fire Fox both allow multiple tabs. I use that feature alot to surf multiple poker sites at once.
