This is pretty crazy coming from me, a tampa bay rays fan. Out of nowhere the yanks sign teixeira ton 8 year $180 million deal.

This means that between sabathia, burnett, and teixeira they have committed almost $425 million... for 3 players. Check it out

I hate the yankee's, this is awful baseball needs a salary cap.However it is great when NY and Boston don't win.

gotta admit tho, bought for 15mil $$. now worth over $3billion? Hell of a job by Steinbrenner.


Anyway as a braves fan its stupid we traded him!! Though the LAA 1B we got aint bad.

He was going to be a free agent at the end of the season.
The braves traded him near the deadline when they were out of the running anyway and I think they got some prospects in the deal.

Why would they be better off keeping him?

Well my son bought his new nephew (2wks old) a t-shirt for xmas that says: I can't walk yet but I already hate the Yankees. We are Red Sox fans.

Im not used to the way your whole system works properly, i get the whole draft thing, but free angency confuses me, and TV coverage we get doesnt go into enough detail.

Here in "soccer", you play for a teams youth side, then move up to its A team ranks. Here you sign contract with them, and play. When your contract runs out, you eithre resign before it does, or move at your own choice to a new club who wants you.

A club can however sell you with your agreement. Or you can ask to be sold. E.G Manchest united player Cristiano Ronaldo nearly went to Real Madrid (speculation) for an estimated £80mil ($150mil). This is what Madrid would pay Man U for the player. Then aftr that they discuss contractual terms.


Crazy money in soccer now, which is kinda why i like your system in the NFL.



So yeah- tex - i didnt know that we wouldnt be keeping him after the season, and now i do gt the move. Guess im just frustrated weve gone from 14 straight div titles to 4th in the division with a losing record. AND NO GOOD PITCHING!!!!!
