Our 5 Card Trivia Contest works like this...

1. I will start this contest by posting a trivia question, riddle, or other quiz variation.

2. The first person to respond with the correct answer will receive a random playing card from a standard 52-card deck.

3. Once someone has responded with the correct answer, I will then ask a new question.

4. This process will continue until all 52-cards have been awarded or until we we have a mathematical winner. The person who can make the best poker hand (does not need to be a full 5-cards) will receive a $15 Amazon.com gift card!

Rules:

1. Each member may only guess once per question. However, you may ask for clarification as often as you'd like.

2. After you have won a card, you may not guess again until another card has been awarded to a different member.

3. I reserve the right to provide hints and/or replace a question if I feel it will help move the game along.

Question 1

Solve the riddle...

A dog is tied to a 15 foot chain and his water dish is 25 feet away from him. Yet the dog is still able to drink from his water dish. How is this possible?

CATLICKER
12-01-2011, 03:54 AM
Other end of chain isnt "tied" to anything, so dog can go as far as he wants

eejit101
12-01-2011, 04:13 AM
As the thing he is tied to is in between him and the water dish. Therefore, the chain is 15 feet long, but tied to a point 12 feet away from him, in the direction of the water bowl. So he can go back to that point, then 15 feet further. Simple

Yep. Post is 10' from bowl. Dog is at the end of chain AWAY from bowl. 25FT. But it's entirely possible the dog also has a long straw. I don't think we can rule that out.

QUESTION - In the WHeel Of Fortune round. How did scarecrow know it was Hey how are you jack?? Ive never heard of that.

It's a quote from a movie, but I'm not sure if he got it from that or not.

I also don't think it would have been too much of a stretch for him to have looked at the puzzle and simply taken a wild guess.

At the risk of ALSO just stating the obvious, I'm gonna say this statement is EXTREMELY significant because every second word contains half the number of letters as the word before it. 6,3 4,2 with the next logical word pairing to be Yo A or possibly Me Y.

Old Question 31

I have in front of me the image of three silver bears as well as a box full of Disney.

What two objects are in front of me?

I'll answer to keep the game moving along (might just give myself a card too)!

The three silver bears were on a can of Coke (on the holiday can design that they are discontinuing because people are confusing it with diet coke and claiming that it tastes different when not in a red can).

The "box of Disney" I was referring to was a box of Christmas cards.
