I thought "not another talent show"
But "WOW" there was alot of talent on the 1st show
I was very impressed with the show and look forward to watching
every episode

Stacie Francis was awesome for a person with low self esteem, after
She gets a few performances in her, she is going to be a super star

I must say, it's hard for me to get into new shows (especially when you consider I'd rather watch Friends or Cheers over just about anything else), but thus far I have really enjoyed the X Factor.

Hopefully the "groups" format doesn't kill my interest next week, because there are some talented and inspiring contestants this season!

My favorite moment of the US X Factor thus far:

3MqSXmVcEi4

Skip to 1:20 for the start of the song, but I recommend watching the full clip for the build up.

Something extremely captivating about this performance.

Here is my favorite from the Judge's Houses show part two (and also my favorite left in the competition):

I think that's the only one I liked from last nights show, but I had a fair bit to drink as I watched another embarrassing performance by the Vikings, so it's possible there may have been some other good ones.

I am looking forward to watching this afternoon on project free tv
(ya'll aren't still paying for tv?)
Looking forward to Dexter today that Breaking Bad has ended
shockingly Breaking Bad has 16 more episodes to air next year
Gus must of had a twin!!!!

X factor performances were weak with everyone at the homes.

I will wait to pick my favorite after they all sing on stage 1 more time

"It does feel like where we were 10 years ago with 'Idol,'" Cowell said of the U.S. "Factor" in an interview last week. "It's like new territory again. I've had to shed everything we did with the UK [version] and get into my head that this is a brand-new audience who actually knew nothing about this show.… It was really hard, first of all, because I've been doing the show for seven years. You sort of assume that everybody knows what you're doing and then you quickly realize, 'God, no one's got a clue.' You've got to explain the whole process and you've gotta get people interested from scratch."

Tonight's show is now over and the remaining 32-acts have been cut to just 16.

I'll add my thoughts in a spoiler tag below, so if you haven't watched it yet and don't want to spoil the suspense, don't read my spoiler and don't read anything else on the internet as I am sure it gets around quickly!

I'll give my thoughts on the cuts group by group.

Groups
To be honest with you, I really could care less about all of the groups, so I am rather impartial as to who got cut and who gets to move on to the live shows. But with that said, I would have kept "The Anser" before keeping either of the three bigger groups she kept, with the Brewer Boys being the group that I think currently has the best chance at going deep in the competition.

Boys
The boys were a tough group to cut in my opinion, because you can look at this group with so many different perspectives and come up with a different top four each time. My personal top four would have been Phillip Lomax, Nick Voss, Tim Cifers, and Marcus Canty. They took Astro (as it appears they are going to call him for the remainder of his time on the show) and Chris Rene instead of Nick Voss and Tim Cifers. I can be on board with this, but I'm just not Astro and Chris Rene can adapt enough to bring something different each week. I look forward to seeing what they can do and I can't fault Mr. Reid for his decisions regardless of the outcome.

Over 30's
I'm pretty bummed out about this group. If it was up to me, I would have kept Josh, Elaine, and Stacy for sure, with the last spot going to any of the guys BESIDES Dexter. I really can't understand her decision to keep him and I can only hope that I feel this way because the producers or mentors picked the worst song possible for him for the Judges Houses performance. But based on everything I have seen from him, he should certainly not be going through. Elaine was so good and I can't believe Dexter was put through instead of her!

Girls
Lets start with the fact that Rachel & Drew are the two best contestants in this competition so it's no surprise that they made it through (I would have stopped watching if that weren't the case).

On the other hand, Simone and Tiah are two of the worst contestants in the competition and I can't believe he put them through. Especially Simone, who put forth the least amount of effort and showed the least amount of interest in actually trying to COMPETE!

He could have easily put Melanie through in place of either of those two and saved himself the embarrassment of having to put 5 girls through to the live shows. He could have also put Tora or Jazzlyn through to round out what would have been a dream four, but now he has three great acts and two who have no business being in the live shows!

I watched X Factor for some background noise last night and what I heard wasn't all that impressive.

I'll watch it again when I can focus and hopefully that will change things a bit.

I did find it annoying that the host had to continually cut each judge off throughout the entire show; came off as very unorganized and amateur. But, maybe that's the whole point?

Anyhow, there wasn't a single elimination that I can argue with, so I am a happy camper. Just hope everyone steps up their game a bit.

It came as no surprise to me that two groups made up the bottom two tonight.

I'll never get on board with groups and it's clear that the majority of the voting audience won't either; especially considering there were plenty of acts worse than both groups (Chris Rene & Leroy Bell to name two).

However, as bad as Chris & Leroy were, I hate groups and will be happy to see them all gone sooner rather than later.

I lije Josh and Rachel too bit have to argue that they both are missing the X factor. Rachel is too young to be singing the songs she sings though she sings them with incredible passion, she won't appeal to th under 20 voters nor will Josh who reminds me of a happy cartoon walrus

I beg to differ on nearly all points!

I'll agree that we've seen artists like Josh on these shows before, but Rachel definitely has the X factor!

Did you miss the first two live shows? The first two songs she sang on were young songs, and she was terrible with them, but that's only because Simon made her sing them. The last song she did was flawless and she does such an amazing job of showing emotion and connecting with the audience that you forget just how young she is.

I can easily forget about all the remaining contestants
Worst quote from Nicole " maybe next time you might want to lose the back up choir. Simon responded that Melanie had a church background and felt she needed some gospel in her music because that is who she is and gospel sells records. Dangyangyangyang
Every single contestant for the last 3 weeks have had to endure 10 or more back up choir singers, even Astro. The choir has ruined almost every song by drowning out 20-40 % of the Lead vocals.

And mean old Simon is acting like he is a canidate for teenage mentor of the year by being sooo nice at times it just sickening

WOW Rachel sure showed what a spoiled brat she is, throwing a tantrum on stage after name was called. She said " You promised mama, you promised". Asuming Mom must have promised Rachel she wasn't going home tonught.

Melanie Amaro is the front runner to win it all acording to the odds makers.
I just don't find her very appealing especially since Simon has labled her a Gospel Artist. The whole dang season has had a gospel theme with 80% of the acts being backed up with 10 of more chior singers. Many times drowning out parts of the lead singer. I have heard way better and more compelling gospel singers and I feel Melanie is forgettable. Mean while Chris Renee is making money with over 10 million Itune downloads.
Melanie at best makes 30% of what Renee will make in the future.

We shall see, I can't see the tween vote goin to Melanie, more likely Rachels supporters and tweens are Voting Chris Renee now. My wife thinks he's cute. she said the same thing about SCOTTY.

Last week the show hit its apex when 13-year-old Rachel Crow was voted off in a moment so horrific it will live on in the annals of reality TV history.
How bad was it? Imagine a puppy getting run over by a tank, multiply it by 40, and then you have some semblance of what it was like to see this bubbly little girl's spirit deflate before your very eyes. adam graham

It was all fake.

NDN thinks X Factor is fake?

Lol, the judges DO KNOW how the vote goes each week though. SO they obviously know who will win

It's all one big scripted show.

I counted 26 back up singers during one of Melanies songs and 25 for one of Rachels. They even attempted to put a gospel touch on one of Astros raps.
Simon mentioned Gospel music sells records at least 3-4 times this season. What the heck is up with that? Has Simon suddenly found Religion?

I'll watch this a little later tonight. Gonna finish the season out, but don't plan on watching it next season (if there even is a next season).

I watched the last 10 minutes of the show which Melanie Amaro won.

She looked like she was angry and sad the last 4 weeks and her demeanor didn't improve after she won.

Simon deserves her!!!

In 1 year, I predict Melanie will not have a Top 10 song on the charts.

I would rather listen to Susan Boyle than Melanie Tomorrow

Of the final three, I wanted it to go...

1 - Josh
2 - Chris
3 - Melanie

I thought it would go...

1 - Chris
2 - Melanie
3 - Josh

I still think it's a more scripted show than everyone lets on and I don't plan to watch it much next year.

I'm not even sure I'll be watching AI much for that matter either.

The resemblance is uncanny. I'm willing to bet that if you were to take residence in his hometown (Wooster, OH), you could find a way to monetize the resemblance!

Given that I'm completely broke I should probably start working on that!

Keep me in mind when you get big enough to need a manager.
