Today while taking out this trash, I took a spill down the stairs. It was a painful fall, and from what heather said i passed out twice. So to be on the safe side she made me, mind ya she made me, as im not fond of hospitals and sharp things like needles and lord know what else, I went. Got some x-rays of my back, and some cat scans of my head, as i bonked it good and hard on a few stairs on the ride down the stairs.
Well after some much dreaded waiting time, The doc told me, that i would just have some contusions(fancy word for Bruises), and that i would be sore for a few weeks, great i thought, nothing broken or malfunctioning.
Well then he asks me if i get head pain and/or headaches often. Im like well ya have for years, was told back in the day i was just a chronic migraine sufferer, and aspirin was my best friend. Well he gets all serious and tells me that i have a approximately 1 inch colloid cyst in my brain. My and my family have been floored by this news, and it is very tough news to swallow knowing that i can suddenly die at any moment.
I have a appointment with my primary care doc tomorrow, and will likely get a referral to a neurologist or some sorta brain specialist to determine whether i will need surgery if operable, or going the non invasive treatment route., I hope the latter, as docs poking around in my brain dont sit too keen with my thoughts.
I will keep you guys up to date on this, and please pray everything will be alrite.

It's a damned good thing you slipped down the stairs.
My nephew found out he had cancer when he got kicked in the stomach by a kid at school. He found it in time and survived. He was meant to get kicked, just like you were meant to slip down the stairs.
I am absolutely sure that you will be just fine.
Have faith bro.

sweetie ....just let them take care of you and I'm sure it will all come out fine....the hardest thing is to hand over your control to them but they know what they are doing you really do need to trust in them....I have faith that you were shown this to do something about it....so research your options...write down any questions...and trust your doctor! hug sent your way

I checked this link out and that is to the T what my diagnosis is. i read the story on the guy named william there as well, and they had a great, successful surgery for him as well that was minimally invasive, only a dime size hole in your head, but it is worth it. My mind is going crazy right now and i know that isnt good for me right now, but im really scared for the first time in my life, actually scared. I cant help but think about heather and kylee. She is still so little ya know, if something goes wrong will she know i loved her and was always there for her? Will heather make it without me?
These are thing s i probably shouldnt even be worried about, as from what i can research and find online, most people who die from this dont even know they had it, or it was inoperable, but still i worry, as it can happen at any moment, so im praying that they can get something done asap. I pray something like this never happens to anyone i know, as it really is messing with my mind right now. Heck im worried i may not wake up, so i dont even wanna sleep.
I guess im just take some of these :chillpill: pills they gave me and just try and relax.

well im am awake and kickin! Me head hurts like hell though i cant tell if its from the fall or what. Gonna get ready for the doc, hopefully some good news about the bad news.
Besides all that crazy chit, i hope you guys are ready for some thursday night football!!!! Dont forget to finalize your lineup if ya still can. And eejit, be on the lookout my big boy brees, he is gonna be on tonite, as he gotta prove last years win against the vikings wasnt a fluke, which in my opinion it likely was, as the cowboys beat the saints but not the vikings, weird yes??plus i got reggie bush in there, not sure what his game plan for the season is yet, but he was very exciting in the preseason, much like his college years.
Nothing beats starting off the season with the home town team! Go Vikings!
And yes, the Saints' win last year certainly was a fluke.

Went to my primary doctor today to review the E.R's findings in my cat scans, and i do have some type of cyst, she could not confirm the type of cyst only that it is there. I have been referred to a neurologist. She did state that in the current conditions it is not immediately life threatening and that i should be ok. I have been ordered to just relax, not stress out, dont strain myself, and not to fall down the stairs anymore. It can cause serious complications, so it is something i need to get took care of asap.
So it is a bit of relief to know as long as i just ignore life in general, which is very stressful, i should be ok lol. Geez im in trouble aint I?

You need to move to California and get yourself a medical marijuana card
and enter into a stress free life instead of sneaking a toke in Texas and ending up in jail with no speedy trial laws in the state.:sifone:
you are not in trouble, you are in for a life altering adventure. Smile, love and follow your heart when it comes to making decisions, you will be right most of the time that way.

Update:
I went to the neurologist today and cant really tell if i received good or bad news. From what he could tell me from the cat scans the cyst is not large enough to be considered immediately life threatening. In order for him to justify doing a life threatening surgery the cyst would have to be immediately life threatening. So he is going to order some MRI's to see if the cyst is stabilized since a had a concussion apparently that the E.R did not catch. If it is stabilized, he will put me on some medications for the head pains. I will just have to live with this until it one day does become life threatening, so in the mean time, i just gotta deal with progressively worse memory loss, vision problems, seizures, and the head pains.
Is that good news or bad news?

Uhhhm. I'm really not sure :/ What was the name of the physician you saw? I may not be too much help because the only super duper one I know of is a pediatric one out of Salt Lake City. But you could potentially call him up maybe and see if he would know enough to give you a second opinion? I don't really know what to say. He might at least know whether your neurosurgeon was a good doc or not and if you should get a second opinion from someone else more local. His name is Dr. Marion L. Walker and he works out of Primary Children's Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah.

A second opinion couldn't hurt. I'm going thru this process myself right now and the more opinions I get, the better solution to my problem. Your's is in your head, that's scary being so close to the brain. If you have insurance a 2nd opinion is just another co-payment. Go for it, you deserve it and you owe it to yourself. You're important to alot of people and I wish you all the answers you're looking for. Stay healthy!

i am looking at some possible docs for a 2nd opinion. I live way out in the boonies so will likely have to travel a long distance to go and see one worth his salts. my plan is to present my case to a few and see if they also agree with my first neurologist in this matter, as running all over the place is gonna get very costly. The first guy i went to was 150 miles there and back, so it seemed worthless based on what his opinion was, but hey what can ya do? The guy dont wanna risk my life, to hopefully make it better, if my life isnt in immediate danger, which is understandable to a degree.
But that is like saying you can stand in the road and be just fine until a semi truck is bearing down on you, or you wont die as long as your at the edge of a 50 story rooftop, but if you fall then your in trouble kinda thing, hard to make sense of the logic in that.

From personal experience....get copies of all of your scans, or better yet have them burn copies and send them to a couple doctors to get their opinion. They study them ahead of time and it helps them with their decision. I still only pay my co-pay doing this way and no extra charge for forwarding records. Stay tough!

Not life threatening.... sounds like good news as opposed to the opposite at the moment. PK has great advise! A second opinion is a good thing. We are talking about you and your life. To be thorough is every bit your right. Never hesitate to ask questions, any single thing you don't understand. Doctors are to be appreciated, but they are working for you! If you don't feel comfortable asking have Heather ask! Make sure you are comfortable with understanding what is happening with you and your body. : ) My thoughts and prayers are with you!
